Spring 2008 Beaver Dam on 2nd Creek
~ My Gypsy Story ~ After raising APHA's for 17 years, I lost my magnificient 20 year old black and white Paint Stallion, RS Roll On. Later that year I purchased several young Ponies of America (POA's). 2-1/2 years later my POA stud colt ended up proving sterile. It was not in the stars for me to raise POA's. Always having a foundness for black and white paints - I found a calendar called Horse Feathers with pictures by Mark J. Barrett and saw my first black and white Gypsy Vanner. I spent the next several months surfing the web for info on Gypsy's. I found Beth Freeland's live video cams and purchased my first colt, Excalibur, in 2006. I ended up selling my POA's and Paint mares, keeping 3 black and white paint riding geldings I raised. Ah ~ the Gypsy Horse - I'm Hooked. You will hear them called Gypsy's, Gypsy Vanners, Gypsy Cobs, Gypsy Drums - Gypsy's are truly a unique breed. I could supply breed info for you but feel it's best for you to visit the many other web sites out there with breed info as I would be copying. I want to THANK the Rom - the Romani Gypsies - the Gypsy Horse Breeders - that have developed this breed of magnificient horse. Strong, willing, intelligent, hard working, playful, calm, trusting - Gypsy's Have It All! I hope you will have the opportunity to personally meet a Gypsy Horse in your life and I extend the invitation to visit my Gypsy's if you are in the area.
